GER – Rottal
Day trip to one the most underrated areas of Bavaria, Germany
Today I want to introduce one of the most hidden areas of Bavaria, Germany.
The weather was nice, I had some free time so I decided to go east and visit a district called Rottal – Inn.
I assume, not many people ever have heard about this part of Eastern Bavaria. Maybe some cyclists as long distance bicycle routes along the Inn river and the Rott river pass by.
For motorbike riders it‘s some sort of a secret place, mostly locals are on the roads.
Well, you not have mountain passes and stunning views like in the Upper Bavarian and Austrian Alps.
In return, you have great road conditions without much traffic, way cheaper accommodation and food and in general a very relaxed time compared to the hustle and bustle of the mainstream areas.
As in the Alps, especially during holidays, it‘s for me way to crowded I always try to find good alternatives. The Rottal-Inn area is definitely one of those.
The round trip from home to there and back was around 320km. Mostly on small roads with one part on the main highway – the A94 from Munich to Passau. This I did just for making some mileage so I have more time to relax where I really wanted to go.
Not breathtaking like in the Alps but still cute views, isn‘t it??
Riding around in the remote areas away from the main roads, you find some cute little towns like Tüßling.
All in all it was a fantastic riding day at perfect conditions with almost no traffic.
The only issue I had was about finding food when I got hungry. Now a days (after Covid) it‘s quite normal in Central Europe that when you are out of the tourist areas, many restaurants are permanently closed as they not find workers anymore.
In the end I went back home and bought some food in the supermarket.
