TH – Huai Mun to Na Noi

04.11.24 – Day 4 North of Thailand.

Today was a very short ride. Just 150 km but with 305 curves and twists.
Can you imagine how much fun that was?

We started at 08.30 am on route 1239 and 1339. This roads I planned to ride for a long time already. And what can I say? Absolutely perfect.

The route 1339 leads to the Sirikit dam. To cross the dam, you need to take the ferry.
Is that safe? Well 50/50.

We arrived at 10.15 am at the „harbour“, 5min too late, the ferry just left. So let’s wait and have some early lunch in the nearby restaurant. Not yummy. Seems like the chef is in love, the food was very salty. We survived that and after 1 hr waiting, the ferry arrived back to pick us and a gang of Kiwi riders up.
With the Kiwis we had a lot of fun and a good chat.

Travel time across the lake was 30 min and we arrived safely. The route 1026 is in perfect condition.

Arrived in Na Noi at 1.30 pm and found a great resort with mountain view. 790 THB for the night is worth the money. We will stay here for 3 to 4 nights to take a rest and go for a loop in the Nan mountains.

Na Noi itself is not really special. A village / small city along the road. Very dead as soon it‘s getting dark. But quiet, this is what we like.

Another great riding day today even that it was only 150 km.
