We took a one day break, spend with editing, write the blog, walking around the city, find food and eating. I have the feeling that these days off make me gain weight like hell.

Satun to Hat Yai: A Day of Rare Bikes, Relaxation, and Reconnection
Not every day on a motorbike adventure is about epic rides, winding roads, or breathtaking landscapes. Sometimes, it’s about the quieter moments—the connections you make, the experiences you share, and the little indulgences that make the journey memorable. Our day traveling from Satun to Hat Yai was one of those days. While the ride itself was straightforward and uneventful, the time spent off the bike was filled with relaxation, rare finds, and the warmth of good company. It was a day that reminded us why motorbike travel is about more than just the ride—it’s about the stories you collect along the way.
A Straightforward Start: Satun to Hat Yai
We set off from Satun at 9 AM, embarking on a 100-kilometer ride along the highway to Hat Yai. The route was far from thrilling—a straight, flat stretch of road with little to break up the monotony. The traffic in both Satun and Hat Yai was as chaotic as expected, but it was nothing we hadn’t encountered before. By 10:40 AM, we rolled into Hat Yai, ready to shift gears from riding to relaxation.
Our first stop was BMW Motorrad at Millennium Auto Hat Yai, a dealership that has become a familiar and welcoming spot for us over the time. The atmosphere here is always laid-back, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. After a quick check on the bike, we spent some time catching up with our sales contact, sharing stories from the road and discussing the latest models.
A Rare Gem: The R1250 GS Adventure Ultimate Edition
As we wandered through the showroom, one bike immediately caught my eye—the R1250 GS Adventure in the Ultimate Edition triple black. This wasn’t just any motorcycle; it was a tribute to the iconic R1250 GS, a machine that has earned its place as a legend in the adventure biking world. Equipped with extra gadgets and finished in a sleek, all-black design, the bike looked absolutely stunning.

What made this particular model even more special was its rarity. In Thailand, only 24 units of the Ultimate Edition are sold, making it a true collector’s item. As someone who appreciates both performance and exclusivity, I couldn’t help but feel drawn to it. The new 1300 GS Adventure, with its blocky, Lego-like design, doesn’t quite appeal to me, but the R1250 GS Adventure? That’s a bike I could see myself riding for years to come. By the end of our trip to Singapore, I might just make it mine.
A Relaxing Afternoon: Thai Massage and Rejuvenation
By 2 PM, it was time to shift from motorbikes to relaxation. We had an appointment for a Thai massage at a local spot recommended by our sales guy at Millennium Auto. At 300 Baht for two hours, this was no tourist trap—it was the real deal, a place frequented by locals. The massage was exceptional, a perfect blend of pressure and technique that left us feeling rejuvenated and at ease. It was so good, in fact, that we booked another session for the following day with the same skilled therapists.
Thai massages are a staple of life in Thailand, but finding an authentic, high-quality experience can be tricky if you don’t know where to look. This hidden gem was a true highlight of the day, a reminder of the importance of slowing down and taking care of yourself, even when you’re on the road.
An Evening of Food, Drinks, and Friendship
As the sun set, we met up with the Millennium Auto team for dinner at a hot pot restaurant. Hot pot is a social dining experience, perfect for sharing stories and laughter over a simmering pot of broth and fresh ingredients. The meal was delicious, but it was the company that made it truly special. These are the moments that stick with you—the conversations, the camaraderie, and the sense of connection that comes from sharing a meal with good friends.
After dinner, the night continued at a local bar. We decided to try something new: a whiskey and juice mix served in a pitcher and poured into small shot glasses.
It was a fun, albeit potent, concoction, and the attentive waiter made sure our glasses were never empty. Before long, the drinks had taken their toll, and we found ourselves thoroughly enjoying the lively atmosphere. It was a late night by our standards—we’re usually in bed by 9 PM—but it was worth it for the memories made.
A Day Well Spent
By the time we returned to our hotel at 1 AM, we were exhausted but content. The day hadn’t been about covering vast distances or tackling challenging roads; instead, it was about reconnecting with friends, indulging in relaxation, and embracing the slower, more social side of travel. It was a reminder that motorbike journeys are as much about the people you meet and the experiences you share as they are about the ride itself.
While the highway from Satun to Hat Yai may not have been the most exciting route, the day as a whole was a testament to the joys of motorbike travel. It’s not always about the adrenaline or the scenery—sometimes, it’s about the quiet moments, the laughter, and the connections that make the journey unforgettable. And for that, this day was a resounding success.
Stay tuned and enjoy yourself!!
