LT – Vilnius

Old town Vilnius, Lithuania

08.06.24 – Day 15 solo trip to Estonia on a BMW R1150 RT

Today is not a riding day – today is a walking and exploring day. Weather is great, sunny and not too hot.

Vilnius is the capital of and largest city in Lithuania, and the second-most populous city in the Baltic countries. As of January 2024, Vilnius’ estimated population was 602,430, and the Vilnius urban area which extends beyond the city limits has an estimated population of 708,627.

Vilnius is notable for the architecture of its Old Town, considered one of the largest and best-preserved old towns of Europe. Vilnius was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. The architectural style known as Vilnian Baroque is named after the city, which is the easternmost Baroque city and the largest north of the Alps.

The hotel I stayed for this visit – the Holiday Inn – is close to the old town. Let’s go then.

Even that I not see and visit every attraction in Vilnius, after a couple of hours and almost 11 km walking, I was tired. So back to the hotel, edit photos and relax.

Conclusion: Vilnius is a relaxed city – you will meet a lot of young people. The atmosphere and the feeling is great. Definitely a 8/10 rating from me.

Stay tuned and enjoy yourself!!
