North of Thailand day 1
Sisaket, Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Pilok.
The ride from Sisaket to Bangkok and from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi on the main highways was not really a memorable experience.
So let’s beginn the trip to the North of Thailand on the 19th of November 2022 witht he ride from Kanchanaburi to Pilok.
Started 6.15 am in Kanchanaburi along the Kwai river, passing by the Sai Yok National Park.
Cool weather, almost no traffic, an amazing and relaxed ride in the fresh morning air.
After almost 100 km relaxed cruising, turned left at the Khao Laem reservoir into the mountains on Hwy 3272. There the real fun started.
30 km turns and twists, up and down in the woods with some stunning views.
The higher you go there, the more the climate changes from hot and wet to cool and dry air.
Thai people love it – me as well!
Pilok was a mining boomtown in the 1940s and is now a tourist destination.
Many people stay there over night to see the fog on the mountains during sunrise.
For me, way too crowdy. The village is full with homestays, parking lots and tourist shops.
As I arrived there at lunch time, I not wanted to stay there for the next sunrise.
After a quick view around, I decided to leave and go back the 30 km twisted roads.
Have fun when riding!
Conclusion: A great trip on good roads with lots of twisty roads and a great scenery. Definetely worth it!
