Thailand – Satun to Songkhla

The shortest way from Satun to Songkhla is around 80 km.
I am very proud of myself that I made a ride of 387 km out of it.
Well, Sang was complaining a bit about the long trip and honestly I underestimated that a bit as well.
But in the end it was a trip, we explored many new things like small farm roads in Songkhla and Phatthalung on small roads along the mountain range. That was really totally remote with a lot of rubber farms.

The first destination in the morning was the Laem Tanyong Po beach, we hoped to get a first view to Lantawi Island, Malaysia. Not as successful as I hoped.

We had our first rain of the trip…the restaurant was just in the right time.

Great ride to the Khuan Nok Ten viewpoint and later on Hwy 4136 along the Khao Phu / Khao Ya National Park.

We passed by the Thale Noi. Thale Noi is a protected fresh water wetland located in Phatthalung province, southern Thailand. Covering an area of 460 km², the wetlands are situated approximately 20 km inland from the east coast peninsula of the Gulf of Thailand and 115 km north of the Malaysian border in Satun province. Thale Noi Non-Hunting Area is one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in South East Asia.

The ride on the elevated road was great, even it was really hot.

The road along the beach to Songkhla itself is nice. But the beach full of rubbish, not worth to go in the end.
So up on Hwy 408 the fast way to Songkhla.

We stay in the La Pino hotel, 1.170 Baht per night incl breakfast and roof covered parking.
If you check in there, take a room to the backside. Then it‘s less loud from the road.
