Sisaket (TH) to Singapore – Ep 17
Malaysia – Gerik to Kaki Bukit
265 km mostly on twisty roads… a pleasant riding day with some nice scenery and almost no traffic.
The second day of our trip in Malaysia was a good one from the view of riding.
The morning started fresh, let’s enjoy the scenery.
Along the road we found this roti shop and enjoyed a late breakfast. This lady is really professional and serve not only delicious roti but also tea and old style coffee.
Some more views along the road.
The ride along the Tasik Pedu Lake was ok. A small and twisty road in the woods what ended at a gate of a closed resort. The Tasik Pedu Lake is a man made lake and covers an area of 75 square km.
Back on the main road, we enjoyed the ride on perfect road conditions with a lot of twists.
Finally we arrived in Kaki Bukit. This is a small village close to the border to Thailand.
The village itself offers not much. When we arrived, the market and the coffee shop closed already.
What is interesting there are the old, almost 100 years old houses and the mix of ethnics. You find Chinese, Thai, Indian and Malaysian people.
My wife can communicate in Thai very easy. What you not find are western tourists.
We stayed in the 365 homestay what turned out to be a very big and brand new hotel now.
For the room we payed 790 Baht (I forget how much MYR but anyways better to stay with the Thai currency for comparison). The price I guess will increase once the hotel is finish.
For up to 1.000 Baht I can recommend that accommodation.
It was not a “wow” day but a good day. The ride is worth it.
Find the details of the trip in the Calimoto link.
Stay tuned and enjoy yourself guy’s!!
